Booking Manager at Barr
We are looking for a highly organised, service- and self-driven Booking Manager to lead and develop our reservations and guest communication

About the Role
As Booking Manager, you will take ownership of all reservations and guest correspondence, ensuring a welcoming and seamless journey for every guest. You will refine systems and processes, and work closely with restaurant management to align bookings with daily operations, service flow, and guest expectations.
The role will require a combination of administrative tasks, along with some hours in restaurant service greeting and seating guests.
This role plays a central part in shaping the overall guest experience at Barr.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all booking channels (online platforms, email, phone), ensuring timely and thoughtful communication
Develop and maintain booking strategies aligned with seasonal changes, events, and operational needs
Handle VIP bookings, large parties, and special requests with care and attention to detail
Monitor and optimise occupancy, waitlists, and cancellations to support a balanced and efficient service
Collaborate closely with Front of House and management to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain and improve reservation systems, workflows, and internal processes
Analyse booking patterns and guest data to inform decision-making
Ensure all guest communication reflects Barr’s tone: warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming
Work with the rest of the FOH team during some hours of service, performing a host role. Greeting and seating guests
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in reservations or booking management within hospitality
Experience working service within a busy restaurant
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
Highly structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with systems
A natural sense of hospitality and guest awareness
Ability to stay calm, flexible, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment
Experience with reservation systems
